Week 9

Back from a much need break. Each year UBC gives us a week off in February and calls it reading week...it should really be called "spring break" since I don't know a single person in my program that did any "reading". February is still winter I know, but UBC ends beginning of April compared to most universities which end in June so we don't really get a "spring break". This week was probably the laziest I have ever been, and I don't even regret it. Coming back in the middle of the term after a week off it by far a larger adjustment that coming back after a month off. The logic seems flawed here but trust me, ask any other pharmacy student and you'll hear the same thing.

Monday and Tuesday were the absolute worst since not only did I start each day at 8:30 but I had 4 labs/tutorials, so as you can imagine, by the time Tuesday hit I thought it was Friday. With no motivation to study since there was no exam this week, a few of us went out to have sushi at The Eatery then proceeded to not study.

This weekend I was lucky enough to have a 4 dayish weekend with no classes Friday-Sunday and not starting until 2pm on Monday. Since I did not study during the week, I took full advantage of the weekend. I find a do a lot better with long weekends since by the time 5:30 hits and I have been in labs/tutorials/lectures since 8 or 8:30 in the morning I really don't have the energy to study in the evening. Usually you can find me at Starbucks or the Boulevard or some other coffee shop, BUT in the effort to save the coffee money I do not have I found a new study spot. The weather in Vancouver has been amazing this weekend. Sunny but cold, literally my favorite and puts me in the best mood. All weekend I was on the 3rd floor of the nest studying at the desks around the parameter near the window where you have a decent view of UBC. I still like to have my coffee when studying so I bought this Cold Brew from the grocery store since it is the only one they sell. It's actually pretty good since it's no super acidic. Cold Brew is still a little strong for me so I like to water it down a bit and I add some almond milk. I do not add any ice since I find it waters it down too much. You don't really need ice since it is still cold outside.

EOB #2...which in pharmacy is like a final...so be prepared for lots of study and coffee pictures next week. Also this weekend I took some pictures relating to my study routine so be on the lookout for that!
